Winkie Cheng 鄭穎琪
Registered Occupational Therapist
Winkie achieved her Occupational Therapy degree at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and she is currently studying in Master of Science in Rehabilitation of People with Developmental Disabilities in PolyU. After graduated from university with Bachelor’s degree, she spent around 4 and half years working in Early Education and Training Centre (EETC), and Special Child Care Center (SCCC) of local NGOs. She gained valuable experience and knowledge to work with children with different developmental disabilities, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, global developmental delays, and dyslexia. She conducts occupational therapy assessment and treatment in various aspects, including Activities of daily living (ADL), fine motor and handwriting, sensory integration, and executive functioning. Besides, she provides talks on different topics for parents, to enhance the understanding and skills of parents on the knowledge and strategy to help their kids. Winkie is trained in Therapeutic Listening, Beckman Oral Motor intervention and Sensory Integration to cater different sensory needs of children, when sensory integration is a critical component that may affect the functional outcomes of children. Combined with the use of other behavioral and parent interventions, it is aimed to maximize the progress of children. Winkie believes that holistic and individualized training for different kids is crucial since every child is unique. Besides, the involvement of caregivers and home program are very essential in the success of the intervention.
